“History of Mexicans In Wisconsin”
Dr. Sergio Gonzales – Author and Assistant Professor of History at Marquette University
Sergio M. González is Assistant Professor of History at Marquette University. A historian of twentieth-century U.S. migration, labor, and religion, his scholarship focuses on the development of Latino communities in the U.S. Midwest. He is the author of Mexicans in Wisconsin (Wisconsin Historical Society Press, 2017) and the co-editor of Faith and Power: Latino Religious Politics Since 1945 (New York University Press, 2022) with Felipe Hinojosa and Maggie Elmore.

“Finding Your Family: Getting Started with Genealogy Research”
Jill Fuller (she/her) - Reference Librarian and Stacks Manager at the Wisconsin Historical Library
Do you want to find out about your family’s history but don’t know where to start? In this presentation, you’ll discover the basics of genealogy research so you can confidently start your own family history project. Presenter Jill Fuller will walk you through the research process, demonstrating how to set a research goal, locate records, analyze evidence, and share your findings. You’ll also find out how the Wisconsin Historical Society’s collections can help you along the way.
