Oak Creek Soldiers Who Never Returned from World War II

Four World War II soldiers from the Town of Oak Creek are MIA or buried overseas – in the North Sea, the Netherlands, Italy, and the Philippines. One died in Italy, but his remains were returned to Wisconsin. Another died while providing ground service at an Army airfield in Georgia and was buried in Oak Creek.

The names of these local heroes were identified as part of a veteran project researched by society member Nancy Dzidzan.  Tom Mueller, local author and also a member of the Oak Creek Historical Society, recently researched and wrote about these soldiers from Oak Creek in a project for the Milwaukee County War Memorial. Dzidzan provided the names, and Mueller took it from there.
